PRAYERS OF REPARATION
TO THE HOLY FACE OF JESUS
Dear Lord, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, I (we) offer You these prayers in reparation for the sins which offend God the most in these modern times--the sins of BLASPHEMY and the PROFANATION OF SUNDAY and Your Holy Days of Obligation:
One Our Father, Hail Mary,
and Glory Be To The Father
***
Offering of the Holy Face of Our Lord Jesus Christ
to God the Father
Eternal Father, turn away Your angry gaze from our guilty people whose face has become unsightly in Your eyes. Look instead upon the Face of Your beloved Son, in Whom You are well pleased. We now offer You this Holy Face, covered with shame and disfigured by bloody bruises, in reparation for the crimes of our age, in order to appease Your anger, justly provoked against us. Because Your Divine Son, our Redeemer, has taken upon His Head all the sins of His members, that they might be spared, we now beg You, Eternal Father, to grant us mercy. Amen.
***
An Aspiration to the Eternal Father (to be Frequently Recited
During the Day)
Eternal Father, we offer You the Holy Face of Jesus, covered with blood, sweat, dust, and spittle, in reparation for our sins and the sins of the whole world.
***
Aspiration to the Holy Face
(beneficial for the sick and
especially for the dying.)
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Adorable Face of Thy Beloved Son, for the honor and glory of Thy Holy Name, for the conversion of sinners and for the salvation of the dying.
***
Offering of the Sacred Heart
Eternal Father, look upon the Sacred Heart of Jesus which I offer to You as a vase, that It might receive the wine of Your Justice, so that in passing through this Holy Channel, Your Justice may be changed for us into the Wine of Your Mercy! Amen.
***
Prayer to Reproduce the Image of God in our Souls
Our Lord told Sister Mary of St. Peter that the Image of His Holy Face is like a Divine Stamp which, if applied to souls, through prayer, has the power of imprinting anew within them the Image of God.
I Salute You, I adore You, and I love You, oh adorable Face of my Beloved Jesus, as the noble stamp of the Divinity! Completely surrendering my soul to You, I most humbly beg You to stamp this seal upon us all, so that the Image of God may once more be reproduced by its imprint in our souls. Amen
***
Prayer for Our Country
Eternal Father, we offer You the Adorable Face of Your well-beloved Son, for the Honor and Glory of Your Holy Name, and for the salvation of our country. Amen.
***
Prayer to Obtain the
Settlement of all Our Needs
Oh, Eternal Father, since it has pleased our Divine Savior to reveal to mankind in our present century the power residing in His Holy Face, we now avail ourselves of this treasure in our great needs. Since our Savior Himself promised that by offering to You, oh Eternal Father, the Holy Face disfigured in the Passion, we can procure the settlement of all our affairs, and that nothing whatsoever will be refused us, we now come before Your Throne.
Offering to You, oh God, this adorable Countenance, disfigured with painful bruises and covered with shame and confusion, we beg through the merits of this Holy Face to obtain these, our pressing needs.
Grant us pardon, Eternal Father, for the worst crimes of our age, which are atheism, blasphemy, and the desecration of Your holy days. May this offering of the Holy Face of our Savior before Your throne obtain for us deliverance from these evils.
Send us, oh God, many vocations to the priesthood and to the religious life, so that by their prayers, their works, and their sacrifices, they may spread the blessings of Your Church and confound Your enemies. Amen.
The Holy Face of Jesus from the image of Veronica's veil
(The veil is kept in St. Peters Basilica, Rome.)
Isaiah 53: 1-5 Who would believe what we have heard? To whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? He grew up like a sapling before him, like a shoot from the parched earth; He had no majestic bearing to catch our eye, no beauty to draw us to him. He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, knowing pain, like one from whom you turn your face, spurned, and we held him in no esteem. Yet it was our pain that he bore, our sufferings he endured. We thought of him as stricken, struck down by God and afflicted, but he was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity. He bore the punishment that makes us whole, by his wounds we were healed.
Deuteronomy 5:11-12 You shall not invoke the name of the LORD, your God, in vain.
For the LORD will not leave unpunished anyone who invokes his name in vain.
Observe the sabbath day—keep it holy, as the LORD, your God, commanded you.
Reparation of the Holy Name of Jesus
and
the Holy Day of the Lord (Sundays & Holy Days)
Our Lord appeared to Sr. Mary of St. Peter, in the early 1800s. She was a Discalced Carmelite cloister nun who lived in Tours, France. Our Lord spoke to her about spreading the devotion to His Most Holy Face, throughout the world.
He also told her that the Father was greatly offended by sin, especially by the widespread violation of the first three of the Ten Commandments: The Holy Name of God blasphemed (To blaspheme is to speak with contempt about God or to be defiantly irreverent. Blasphemy is verbal or written reproach of God’s name, character, work, or attributes.), and the Holy Day of the Lord profaned (treated with disrespect).
In Sr. Mary of St. Peter’s auto biography, she stated “Our Lord made me visualize the act of blasphemy as a poisoned arrow continually wounding His Divine Heart. After that he revealed to me that He wanted to give me a ‘Golden Arrow’ which would have the power of wounding Him delightfully, and which would also heal those other wounds inflicted by the malice of sinners. The following is the formula of the ‘Golden Arrow’ which is an Act of Praise that our Lord Himself dictated to mr, notwithstanding my unworthiness, fo the reparation of blasphemy against His Holy Name.”
The Golden Arrow Prayer
May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable,
most incomprehensible and ineffable Name of God
be forever praised, blessed, loved,
adored and glorified in Heaven, on Earth, and under the Earth
by all the creatures of God and
by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ
in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Amen.
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the adorable Face of Thy Beloved Son
for the honour and glory of Thy Name,
for the conversion of sinners and the salvation of the dying. Amen.
Our Lord wants this devotion to be spread throughout the world with the goal of making reparation for the sins which offend God.
Through this work of reparation to the Holy Face, God’s justice would be disarmed. He promised to imprint His divine likeness on the souls of those who honor His most holy countenance, and He further promised
“Those who by words, prayers or writing defend My cause in this Work of Reparation I will defend before My Father, and will give them My Kingdom.”
He further explained that this Work of Reparation included “not only reparation for what is generally called blasphemy, that is, abusing the Holy Name of God, but that it also embraced reparation for the profanation of Sundays.”
